Superlite Cars

What is a Superlite car?

Superlites are designed and hand built in the UK for the purpose of taking part in competitive motorsport on a sensible budget. The cars are of a lightweight tubular construction with a very high power to weight ratio. There are several categories of Superlite, the 600, 900 and 1000 Superlite.

Each category takes part in the British Superlite Championship. The championship is an ideal platform for experienced racers and young aspiring champions to compete on a level field and offer arguably the closest competitive motorsport available today.

With start grids of twenty plus Superlites there is always someone to have a close battle with. The discipline is similar to Rally cross but on steroids with a varying combination of 90% tarmac, and 10% loose surfaces of shale/gravel.

On some circuits, we use all tarmac layout simply down to it offering a better race day experience at that venue. Where required, the track will have a few well-placed chicanes to create overtaking opportunities, and with all competitors having the same performance package, your results will come down to race craft and staying tidy.

This results in good clean exciting racing on all parts of the track for the duration of the race. Each race is in the region of 8 to 12 laps, depending on the length of track on the day (typically 1km to 1.5km).

All races score points, via transponder-timed results, for the annual British Championship in the classes. Trophies are awarded on the day for that round, with an end of season presentation evening to award the annual Championship winners in each category.

British Championship events run under NoraSport Supermoto Ltd (hereafter referred to as NoraSport) permits. Annual membership and a competition license fee is £60.

The race entry fee of £140 gets you and your team into the venue and Sunday race day. If you want even more time in the seat, we offer a set of testing/practice sessions on the Saturday of each meeting for only £80 extra. Superlite Double Header events cost £250.
